hi i am going fishing my local canal on thursday and wanted to know tips and tactics for pole fishing so i have a chance to get big bream, tench and maybe hopefully a carp. i no there are loads of tench and big bream in the canal and wanted to know of any good baits and groundbait i can use. and any tactics that will help me catch.

 

i have a few questions.

on pole floats what weight should i get and does it matter when i use it?

should i do margin fishing when go on thursday and how should i go about it?

You will find some of your answer here, in two recent threads, I would say take a rod rather than a pole and PLUMMET THE DEPTH CAREFULLY.
