  9. thanks for quick reply. i realise it abit heavy duty and bites wont be that sensitive and hard to know if line bite or a take but it got given it and fought would be good to start off with. i will be investing in a new feeder rod soon so if you have any ideas of good rods to use for feeder fishing that would help thanks
  10. hi i got given a dragon pike doctor spin 12ft deadbait/powerspin rod yesterday i've googled it up but not found the rod was hopin if anyone has it or knows about it and would be able to tell me if it would be a good rod for feeder fishing using the method feeder. it has a 3lb test curve thanks

  12. today i decided to use a method feeder for the first time as i got it free with a magazine. i set it up on my waggler rod (not got feeder rod) i used 6lb line and a 3lb hookline. i used groundbait around the method feeder and 3 maggets on the hook. i got down to my local canal about half 6am and after 15/20mins i had a bite on my method feeder! after a small fight from the fish i picked up my new PB bream 3lb! i couldnt cast it in the same spot everytime as i used the line clip and cast over head at marker but everytime ended in different place :s?? maybe if kept going same place woulda had better day but also got a 1 n half/2lb tench which suprisly put up more of a fight then my PB (4lb+ tench) caught a few little skimmers and roach after. all in all i had a very good days fishing. next thing to do is get more tackle and start going lakes to use the method feeder and hopefully beat my PB again i got given a rod and reel for free its called...doctor spin 12ft deadbait/powerspin rod and reel as i trying get into feeder fishing and my girlfriends mum boyfriend getting rid of his stuff and he said that it would be able to handle big loads of bait with the feeder with no problem, just wanted to know if anyone has heard/ have this rod and what its like? thanks

  17. got to my local canal at about half 7am, set up and through some bait near lillys. after a little while i put the pole rig over where i had baited up.. caught to little roach (about size my little finger) wonderin how the could fit the hook in there mouths!! then what i fought was a little bite on my float that couldn't even pull float under fought was another little todger out came my new PB bream i'd say it was about 1 1/2 2lb (got a pic but not good 1) after about 20mins of fishin.. carried on fishing and catchin little todgers when i caught one it fell of the hook and the hook went just under surface of water when a big fish came right by my bait, i tried bringing rig in to put fresh maggets on when i saw my elastic was all there way out (6-8) i could see he was heading for the weeds so tried pullin him away then remembered only had top 4 sections on so tried addin some sections by time did he got in weeds and hook was off he was well above my PB which is a 4lb tench i don't know what fish it was from the head it looked like a carp or tench and the way it shot off st8 away i fought it was a carp as that what i heard they do?? (not sure) if it was a carp woulda been my 1st!!! :( what i want to know is... what is the trick in bein able to bring big fish in? how do you play a fish? does it matter what gram your float is and when should you use a certain grammed float? was quiet impressed with my pole i fought it would break if got a big fish as it from aldi hahah
  18. thanks for the offer but as i can't save or more like cant be asked to save loads money they are abit over my price rage and as i only just startin pole fishing i don't want to spend to much incase i give it up and go back to rod and reel thanks for the offer. if i do carry on with pole fishing and in need of a new pole ill ask thou. so far it between the grandeslam formula 11m pole and the LEEDA pole addicted to scopes has told me about.. now just need to save

  21. seen a few snakes sliverin on the surface of hythe canal in kent... scared the **** out of me 1st time saw it. swims right by the bank
  22. thanks for the quick reply... i had a look at it look nice but don't say much about it lol i think i may get another top section so can have another size elastic prob about 6-8 mayb?? as that what i got on pole atm as it says can take fish up 2 5lb and my PB only 4lb so should be finee... do you no if i buy another top section they will elasticate it for me?
  23. thanks for the replies i was thinkin havin a smaller pole would make it easier for me but i obvs wrong and looks like it harder. i got a 8m one now so may get longer 1 then like you both said a 10m one. i will have a look around. i suppose it makes more sense to get longer 1 as you can always remove sections but can make a pole longer. i will have a look around for cheap 10m poles. if you have any ideas of poles could u please let me know AddictedToScopex i tried googling the pole u told me about but cant seem to find so if u no of a website would u please be able to send me the link thanks again mark
  24. oh easy enough i was lookin last night at the middy white knuckle and think i might get that. u get 2 top sections... pole rigs elesticated already both tops and only £35 which is really cheap so may get that soon
