Day-ticket near Milton Keynes?

My wife is hoping to spend a whole day shopping at Milton Keynes and, as it wouldn't work to have me accompany her for the whole day, she suggested I find somewhere to fish, nearby. I don't know the area well, so if there's someone who could recommend, or even give directions to a favourite fishery, I'd be very grateful.

Tingrith is very popular, although I haven't been there myself.

Tingrith is pretty good, fishd there several times, and never blanked at least.

 

It's of the carp puddle style of fishery though, great for beginners or kids, may not be much of a challenge to an experienced angler

Milton Keynes is a big place. Whereabouts is Tingrith, and does it fish well in winter?

It's just north of Junction 12 on the M1. See their web-site here for directions or streetmap here.

Tingith is not actually in Milto Keynes it about 23 miles south down the M1 at Junction 12 near Toddington. MKAA sell day tickets on numerous rivers and lakes. These can be purchased bank side at 4 quid. I would recommend either the Tear Drop lakes which are near the MK bowl, good mixed fishery with carp topping 20 if ya fancy that. Some nice still water chub to be had. There are no pike to speak of. If you want to target pike then I suggest Willin lake, which has agood stamp of fish or the river at Stoney Straford.

 

If you decide to fish Willen fish close as it starts to get dark.

Other good lakes in MK are Furzton (just across the road from The Bowl) and Lodge.

get yourself on the river either ouse or ouzel. or if you don't fancy that try the canal.

Again, not being local, could you give me a few more details about these waters, eg: where the day tickets are bought, whereabouts you park, what fish are the likely quarry? My knowledge of Milton Keynes is restricted to the location of the shopping centre, Xscape, station etc.!
