Eddie, early experiments were along the lines you mention, and yes it is a confidence rig, weed beating rig, rough bottom rig, GAURANTEED non tangle rig. Hopefully it also stops the bait being knocked around by small fish which can tangle and/or bury rigs.

 

 

It can be dragged back into position and set to any depth you like up to about 4inches and down to almost touching the bottom.

 

Dropped into a swim with 3" of leaf debri and with the depth set to 3.5" it is awesome, and really has to be seen :D

 

Very effective on rough ground where the boily could end up lost in among the pebbles, and it was in a swim like that where I first used it with a 2" lift and caught a 20+ common, I overcast and dragged back until I felt the lead bumping on the pebbles and an hour or two later off it went.

Can you imagine my excitement?

 

 

 

 

 

Phil, this can be castjust like any other rig, I have leads from 1.5 up to 4ounces (I made the moulds myself), I deliberately did not show the "rod end" of the setup to keep you all guessing.

 

In case anyone is wondering, I have sat on this for several years and have no plans to market any of the components and if Elton had not asked then I would not have posted the pic at all.

 

One other very important point, this is a safe rig, and can be fished running or semi fixed.
