There are a number of places which do nearly-nearly 2nd hand rods

You can bring one back for your own use no probs

Just got meeself a nice lamiglas for $120 normally $200; it's in good nick

Loomis do turn up in the ex-demo and dump bins

Have a look at their catalogue and let me know

Cheapest 7' two piece there is $205, and none of the 7' models have the casting weight range I'm after.

I've looked through the Loomis catalogue and any that do meet the spec are too expensive, anyway the St Croix should be here mid week and I'm sure I'll be perfectly happy with that.
