Leon, being a born again Virgin was a beautiful experience.

Its amazing how a 3lb thin lipped Mullet can change your life. :D

Off now to make some more bread nets.

Sorry about any mystery. I hate the "in" comments also. :)

If you look at the Medway Mullet Pages you will notice that Leon refers to anyone who hasn,t caught a Medway mullet as a "virgin".

I caught a nice thin lipped mullet on Wednesday from the Medway, my first since returning to mullet fishing, after a long break.

Hence the "born again" comment. :D

The Diamond Geezer:

I've never caught a mullet

Always been told their lips are too soft

Just try unhooking a mullet!

Soft Lips?

well, I suppose that if people do fish for the hardest fighting fish I know of, with a beachcaster, 18lb line, and a size 8 hook, I can understand where that fallacy started!

Diamond, If you are around Kent, and would like to try losing your virginity, let me know :)

Does anybody catch mullet by fly-casting?

The Fleet behind Chesil beach holds large numbers of mullet but it's only nets that catch them.

You would need a boat to stalk them.

The water is mainly less than 4 ft deep and is tidal to varying degrees depending on how far up you are and the state of the moon.

Having had a quick look, I am sure that the Fleet could be a great place for mullet fly fishing. In large areas the tide is fortnightly, which means that there are large areas of decaying weed along the shore line that are only covered by high spring tides.

Just realized! What is this thread doing under Coarse Fishing?
