Drennan Bolt Rig Feeders

Another variation on the same theme. Aren't we clever? How come the famous anglers are famous again?? Don't they develop these shitty bits of tackle that don't work properly?

We'll show 'em how to make tackle......lol

They do, and by and large take the view that putting fish at risk over catching them is not for them...

You?

Over the years I've heard of all sorts of rigs and techniques being banned on waters, even one or two waters that have banned any kind of ledgering. Fixed bolt rigs have got themselves a bad name and banned on lots of waters for tethering fish (maybe rightly so on some waters), but by and large i think it fair to say semi fixed bolt rigs (like this feeder is designed to be used) are considered safe by the specimen angling community.

Theres always a chance of break offs with any rig,

Yep and any rig (even a running rig, float rig..............) can tangle or get stuck in a snag on or after a break off and isn't 100% safe from tethering a fish.

Let us know how you get on.

Well, I can tell you that they cast very well and empty as they should! As for catching fish, I can't comment, as I didn't manage a single bite while using one on the Dove on Saturday.

A switch to ledgered chunks of sausage saved a blank when a 3lb 12oz chub decided it fancied a big mouthful rather than double red maggot.

The grayling had all done a disappearing act. One of the main reasons I wanted to give these feeders a try was that grayling often get deeply hooked on a standard feeder rig with a 12-18" hooklength. I was hoping that reducing this to 4" might get around that problem, but it looks like I'll have to wait to find the answer!
