Clarissa 50 year anniversary

If memory serves me correct, today (12th) is the 50th anniversary of the capture of Dick Walker's big 44lb carp.

The anniversary is tomorrow 13th. There is a radio interview with Richard Walker this evening on Martin James Radio Lancashire show 7.30.

It's almost certainly a repeat of the interview that Martin James did many years ago. It includes RW telling the story of the capture of Clarissa.

 

I've a tape of this, together with interviews with other famous anglers of the time, that was issued to raise funds for the fight against MS, which Martin suffers from. In its original box this tape is now highly collectable.

In that case... today is the 50th anniversary of the day when Dick's car split fell off it's chassis if I remember correctly!

Tut Tut Spindle have you not read your Waterlog this month - The Clarissa Edition? great article by Peter Wheat on his 1952 - states Clarissa was captured on the 13th in the early hours....

You're quite right. Comes from becoming a father for the first time a couple of weeks ago. No time for anything!!!
