If the water is in an area where you would expect to have your auto broken in to or to be accosted on the street, any fishing venues will likely be similar to the rest of the area. Otherwise, you can fish for years and years without any hint of problems.

Don't be bothered by another angler asking "Any Luck" it's just an opening line that gets trotted out time after time to even the most experienced anglers. It almost replaces hello as a greeting between anglers and in no way reflects that you think the person may have needed luck to catch. Also after a quick chat you will find that many will wish you good luck as a parting rather the good bye.
