Essington?

Had a walk around a fishery last night in Essington (?). There were a number of small pools and was told that night fishing was allowed at the weekend. That's all the information I could get, so was wondering if any on the forum have knowledge of this place. :confused:

Just giving this a bump as someone must know this place, it's not far from the M42 in the Cannock area (ish).

Is it on farmland just off Junction 11 of the M6 or do you mean Brownshore Lakes or the Piggery?

It is on farm land and you can drive right up to the pools. Think there were 5 pools in all with (I think) trout in one of them. I was told that you buy your tickets from a large house which is only a couple of hundred yards from the pools. I am not local to this venue but did notice it was close to some of the BNR workings. :confused:

Also at the fishery entrance, which you would miss if you blinked, was a very weathered wooden sign that was unreadable.

If you are travelling on the m6 and come off at j11,follow the signs for Wolverhampton and you will come to a large island with a small motorway going over the top.Carry straight on and turn left at the 2nd island.

The fishery is called Essington and contains Carp,Roach,Bream and Tench to name a few.There is night fishing at the weekend and there is also one of the largest car boots around in the joining field.Hence no peace and quiet on the Sunday.

Can you give any more info, i'm interested in fishing for the carp and was wondering about sizes and baits. Also do you know if the place gets busy with anglers night fishing.
