Chris, it is problems like you describe that the SACG & NASA (SAA)can help with through their membership and one of the reasons why the Code of Conduct for Specialist Coarse Anglers was written.

Chris,

What you are talking about is Pike related is it not? Also, you are speaking about the Norfolk Broads and angling from a boat are you not?

Well Chris, I hear what you say and understand that boat angling problems in your area are mostly not shared by others away from Broads fishing.

Most of us hardly ever fish from a boat as do you so would not be unaware of boat angling ethics or gentlemanly conduct or should I say the lack of it.

Mostly, Peter's criticisms do not concern his own fishing environment but the environments of others miles away from the Broads. Mostly carp anglers in theirs.

Oh no, not that again !,

Which do you think the fish would rather be pulled by.

1. a Big hook in the jaw

2. Two little trebles down the throat.

I don't have the answer , do you?

Maybe Paul, Jerk baits are getting smaller

amongst the people that have been doing it for a while, a balance will arrive at sometime.

Anyone want more background to this turn of the thread, see "Do big Hooks damage pike" from a month or so ago.

Peter,

Isn't it strange how some of these threads twist and turn from their main theme.

Now we see pike anglers questioning each others methods !

Interesting, ain't it? Buggered if I know

myself.

I wouldn't hold your breath Phil, he rarely has in the past. Prefers to come on here, stir the pot like a broken gramaphone record and make statements which are unfounded and often untrue. Sad really because I know in his heart he cares about the sport, if only he dedicated so much effort into doing something constructive.

Wrong, completely wrong, apart from the odd well intentioned dig at carp anglers, (I wish Pike would bite so furiously,) my critiscism/worries do concern my local environment, very much so. As for those who should head the SAA, read the posts of Allen & Lee & decide for yourselves. I have always considered Lee's comments to show wisdom and foresight but his replies on this thread have rather disallusioned me. As for being at the SAA inaugerel meeting, I am not a member of SACG so could I be there? I suppose the obvious answer has to be that I shall join if I like what I see. I don't doubt that a number of others will do just the same, hence my comment that the SAA must start off with the right people at the helm. Its a pity that I can only judge prospective committee members by their postings. I know darn well that I should be crap at the job so I wouldn't stand, thats for sure. Off at a tangent, I certainly shall go along to the inaugerel meeting of the Anglers Consultative Association of Norfolk & Suffolk, it looks very promising indeed as its nearer to home, so to speak.
