On holiday in Cornwall

Recommended Posts

I'm off with my other half and 2 dogs a week on Saturday and staying in Liskeard, Cornwall.

I was hoping to get a bit of fishing done and having only sea fished once on a boat in New Zealand I don't know where to start.

I've looked up some of the charter services but all are for parties of 6/8 or more so not really sure where to start.

Any information from you guys would be brilliant, thanks

Your best bet would probably be to head into Looe and ask in the tackle shop on the quay by the fish market (can't remember their name). As i remember, they handle all the bookings for the charter boats and would almost certainly be able to find you a trip out :D

Two web sites:

pba.org.uk

deepsea.co.uk This has an angling vacancy section and last minute promo's

Both have skippers around devon and cornwall. Phone them and have a chat, they will be glad to hear interest. At present i'm am struggling to get afloat down there in august as even some of the better known skippers are finding it hard to get to fill the boat up. I hope it ain't due to the fuel situation. Good luck.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

  • 3 weeks later...

Just a little update.

Back from holiday and went out for some reef fishing from Looe on Thursday, very choppy so not the best experience in the world but caught a few mackerel for bait and managed 5 congers, biggest perhaps 10 to 15lb or so. I enjoyed it, gave me arm ache and I came away with the most, a couple of guys didn't catch so I must have been doing something right :D

No pics as it seriously was rough out there, I didn't want to lose my camera.

cheers again for info :)

Oh and it was Shark Angling Club of GB, they sort out the bookings etc, John Reynolds was the skipper.

Apparently, fishing has been poor down there for a while.

Glad you enjoyed it. Next time you get out, ask the skipper to put you over the mark where the mummy conger live, should give you a nice work out. :)
