advice new match rod

Hi everyone!

 

Clumsy me just stood on and broke my trusty Red Wolf glass match rod so I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade.

 

I've already got a Shimano Technium DF feeder rod that I really like and thought I might be just as happy with the Technium match rod. Does anyone have any experience with these match rods or have any other recommendations?

 

Probably the furthest I'll fish is 3 rod lengths but usually much closer. My float fishing is for some silvers but mostly bream and decent tench. There are loads of lilies so I need to be able to steer the fish sometimes.

 

Looking around most match rods seem to fall into 2 categories: through action and fast action. Could anyone explain the pros and cons of these for waggler fishing?

Can't go wrong with the Technium series. Fast action are more suited to chucking big wagglers and targeting bigger fish.
