Hooklink for floater fishing

Recommended Posts

Multistrand would be my first choice, especially on a heavilly fished water. The filaments separate in water making it much harder for the fish to detect it.

If multistrand weren't allowed I'd use fluorocarbon, my favourite brand being Grand Max, that is distributed in the UK under their own labels by Preston in the lighter breaking strains and Gardner in the heavier ones. This isn't so much for its low visibility, but more because it sinks. As many fly fisherman will tell you it's preferable to ensure that the end of the leader doesn't float as this can spook the fish.
