thanks guys- mucho help. bit of a freudian slip there steve...what makes you think I have rods, not just rod? I have identified the collection of tackle as a disease and am seeking medical help for what has been named 'kit collection'

That collection of rods isn't big enough for you to need medical help. You need to buy far more to be a true tackle tart like me

I can relate to that Liam! when I moved to France I got rid of my cabin and now back in the UK have all my stuff in the spare bedroom and attic!I really miss the old "Tackle Workshop" as I can never find anything these days!
