River Roch [Roach]Lancashire

Has anyone on the forum fished the River Roch between Littleborough and its confluence with the River Irwell in Bury Lancs.If so could you give me an indication as to what species exist in the river ...cheers rob

Never fished the Roch but if the Irwell is anything to go by I'd imagine it's mainly Roach.

cheers rob looks like ive got approx 15 miles of river to explore for free unless someone knows any different :cool: :cool: ...rob ps when the season starts of course

hi, me and my dad have fished this river a few times and we love it! weve only caught brown trout and chub in there. if your familiar with rochdale, we usually fish on a stretch of the river next to asda. its brilliant!

hi rickdonoghue, i have been to river roch on the side of asda, but i have alot of problems getting there. main thing is the bushes and when you get stuck, u fell like giving up. I caught about 3 trout from there in summer 2012. I am planning to go there again. i wanted to ask do you use spinners or do you fly fish? also i usually go to rochdale canal to fish but there is manly roach, perch, pike and few bream. i was wondering if i have seen you there, i am an Asian who fishes there which is quite rare and i may have seen you. just tell me if i have seen u before. thanks very much. if u are ever planning to go river roch just tell me.
