Spodding

Hi Folks,

Could anyone give me any good info on how to go about spodding? I have acquired a spod rod, some shock leaders and a spod! ( always good ). How should I rig it and use it?

Guess I must use a big spod then. I put a 100lb powerpro shock leader on with a 50lb mainline.

May be more than I need but distance is fine and I've not had a crack off.

Cosmic-carper:

i have to be honest neva used a shockleader, perhaps i should,,,,,maybe,,,,i duno. lol

For power casting, you should really have 10lbs of B.S. for every ounce you cast. 30Lb for 3 ounces, 40 for 4 ounces etc. A crack off could be very expensive. A spod and all its contents could cost more than a big jerkbait. Better safe than sorry.
