How do i catch on the Demo??!

Can anyone out there help an old fogey catch decent fish on the demo please?

 

I've downloaded FishSim2 and have fished the River Lot, pegs 2 and 3. After several hours on peg 2 all I've managed to catch was a tiny Roach and skimmer by float fishing at 2' with light tackle + adjusting the season so it's warm (maggots). Even then bites are infrequent for bit fishing, almost non-existent and staring at a monitor for several hours to catch a virtual skimmer is not my thing.

 

What I'd like to catch is a bigger fish, especially a barbel, carp or tench. I can't get ANY bite in swim 3...trotting far bank or ledgering meat for barbel (what I'd really like to catch). Is there a way of increasing bite rates? a skill level I need to adjust? a dynamite option??!

 

I know it's realtime and I don't mind sitting on a bankside for 8 hours for one bite but in front of a computer screen is a bit insane!

Fish luncheon meat, lobworm or sweetcorn on under the trees on the far bank on the River Lot, and try trotting caster or bread from mid-depth to the bottom as well.

It was because of the river Lot that I almost chucked Fs2 in the bin ( I bought it without trying the demo).After fishing some of the other vens i got with the game I decided to stick with it.

I've tried the Lot several times since and so far my biggest catch was....... absolutely nothing

Don't let one venue put you off, there are literally hundreds available to download now, from fish a chuck fantasy venues to venues so hard your lucky to get 2 bites in an hour...

Thanks for help guys,I have only the FishSim2 demo. Once I found the spot on peg 2 (tight to far bank) and bait (meat) I couldn't stop catching: 40lb of tench (to 4.5lbs) and bream in 2 hours!!!

 

Right, not to find the Barbel in peg 3!

It might be faulty though as they seem to have left all the carp and barbel out of my version
