The latest versions of Word have an option that lets you print in booklet format ie it prints on A4 in such a way so that when you fold it into A5 the pages are sequenced correctly.

I'm not sure though if this requires a compatible printer. We were printing double sided on a Lexmark laser.

Hi Chesters

What are you wanting, software which allows easy formatting of the text and images, or page printing as davidp is talking about?

If the former, then if you know Word well it will allow you to do pretty much anything you want.

If you want what is probably the best publishing software available then you want Adobe PageMaker, FrameMaker, or InDesign. They really are the best for this sort of job, but usually cost serious money. They also take a fair bit of learning, but if you are intending to publish a book are worth learning.

Mail me if you want to know more - documentation and publishing software consultancy is what I did when I had a proper job.
