Buying goods from the States.

You'll save around 20% on £18 plus P&P so maybe £8. The cost of buying and converting the money order will more than swallow that up!

i blame the government ,if they made this country a duty free one we would be the center of the world for trade ,instead were one of the highest ,we cannot sell our oil at a different price than what the arab cartell tell us to  make gb a low tax country and prosper ,unfortunatly the gov wants us to slowly strangle ourselves into oblivion with unnessesary import duties :( we could be a new hong kong :)

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

All governments need revenue and they get that from taxes. If they were to stop taking in excise duty then they would have to raise their revenue from somewhere else, i.e. a rise in income tax. Therefore you'll have less money to buy all those cheaper goods. So it just goes to show that you can never win.

For buying stuff from the States then a friend who travels to your country is probably your best best bet that is if you want to avoid paying excise duty and VAT. It's great to have those type friends :)
