Hard graft . War is more than just fighting in the front line it's the baggage train that keeps the front line fed...Well deserved :)

my grandad who's irish joined the army rather than go home as a few did. he said he was helped through his recruit training by the fact his intake was almost all irsh..........a complete trained platoon of irish soldiers had "deserted" as a platoon and joing the uk army.my grandad could only serve in the blue caps as he only had one eye. but he would rather do that than go running home to ireland.

had some great storys off him before he died of the places he had to guard etc. when we used to go and collect him from london where he lived to come stay with us at cambridge i had to vary the route home as we got the storys as we went past the landmarks..............everytime :bye2:. the kids used to **** themselves laughing and would even start just before we go to a landmark as they knew he would start. we were/are still proud of him though and wouldnt have it any other way :clap3:

glad your grandad got his pardon rob. rightly so as well. mine was living in the uk at the time so wasnt in the irish army.
