Silver Bream..........??

Perhaps even stranger than that, many years ago from the River Glen, I occasionally caught "bonsai" bream of about five inches long, that were perfect replicas of large adults. They were a very deep bronze/brown in colour and had very well defined scales. I have never come across any similar ones since that time and Ican't believe they were just stunted.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Peter I have long felt that the changing of colour from skimmer "silver" to bronze is due to age rather than size (dis regarding "washing out" due to water colout/clarity) as Ive caught bream of over "skimmer size" that are still silver and 1 1/2lb bream that are bronze.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

It's almost certainly an immature common bream. It's eyes are too small for a silver bream and the fins are completely the wrong colour. Having said that, the scales look a bit delicate for a common bream, so there could be doubts about its parentage.
