My computer didn't feel right today, a bit slow, so I checked my add & remove programs and noticed Internet expedition. Should it be there and what does it do please?

If you can locate the folder containing the application, see what the name of the .exe file for starting the program is and post that.

 

I've never heard of an application by that name and can't search up any information that seems to apply.

 

Do you regularly run Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy? If the app is spyware of some sort, they will probably get rid of it. CWShredder would probably also be a good thing to download and run.
