Program deletion problems.

Cranfield

Recommended Posts

I downloaded some music files and have now got a "dialler" in my Program files,which I can,t delete.

I tried "Uninstall" which showed it as gone, but I checked and it is still there.

Its C:ProgramFiles.wmx

When I try to delete it, I get the mesage;

"Cannot delete wmx. Access is denied. Make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use".

It is trying to contact the Internet, but Norton Firewall has been set to stop it permanently.

I have run AdAware. Spybot and a Norton Antivirus Scan and its still there.

Any ideas please ?

Have you tried booting to safe mode and then deleting it?

If you have then what OS and what is the exact file name?

And a read thru This thread might give you some useful ideas.

Thanks Newt, I downloaded MoveonBoot and it dealt with the problem immediately.

Really appreciate your help, I owe you a few beers. :)
