was wondering if anyone can help with a little question.

i have just ordered an amd xp2500 processor which is 333mhz bus and i now realise my memory is 266mhz.

the question is will they work ok together or do i need to get 333mhz memory?

later guys i`m going fishing

yes they will work together ok, your ram speed will hold the cpu back, it really depends on what you use the pc for, if you use it for general use i.e. surfing and doing documents you wont notice anything really different. but if you do a fair bit of gaming i'd get the 333mhz ram:) so to get the best from the new cpu you would be better off gettting the 333mhz memory, but its really up to you

make sure your bios KNOWS its 266mhz memory ,i had great problems with my AMD 2600xp when my bios insisted it was 333mhz memory ,with one memory chip it worked fine but with 2 inplace it had fits ,i bought faster memory ,although the mobo SAID it worked with 266 it didnt when a faster cpu was used ,nothing was mentioned on the website (epox)y but luckily my vendor had the exact same problem with identicle specs on his home machine and did a bit of research
