  1. wot make modem is it in the pc? try updating the drivers for it as this might cure the prob. If your using Xp look to see if the modem is set to shut off after so long as i've seen this before and its very frustrating .
  2. @SUMMER@ what isp provider do you use ??? as normally they give you anything from 10 to 50mb's of webspace as part of the service they provide, could you not build it on their server ???
  3. Divx-AC3(1) is a movie format, in that the movie is in DivX format with an audio code in AC3 format, you will be hard pushed to find the right codecs to allow you to play it in WMP (besides which its not a very good player)much better getting a diff player imho. to see if you have the codecs on your pc to play the file google for a prog called G-Spot,very handy prog to identify the codecs needed to play a said film,it also tells you if you have the required codecs to play the movie.
  4. you could even add an extra hdd using rails that make the hdd fit into a spare 5 1/2" drive bay as long as you have a spare bay,or if you arent using the floppy drive (most peeps dont) you can remove this and place the drive in that bay
  5. they will only upgrade the line to your house if its old or damaged or not capable of running adsl, u could always ring them and ask them to test ur line to see if it would be ok for adsl then go from there
  6. try this website as tools that you can use to monitor your internet usage http://www.netmonitor.org/
  7. Check this site Info on Application Layer Gateway and you might even find info on the others you listed as well
  8. when u set up the wifes email address on wanadoo it should have generated a password for that account, if not the account wasnt set up correctly
  9. just tried it in firefox without any probs, it may have been offline at the time of trying or maybe ur isp was having probs
  10. Merry Xmas and a happy new yr to one and all

  14. Does anyone know of a Uk based dvd media retailer who stocks dual layer or dvd9 dvd's, i know pcworld stocks them, but there out and arent sure when they are getting any more need some asap
  15. you will have to use dvd+r or +rw dvd's in that burner, if its a dual format burner i.e dvd+/- r/rw you could use either + or - format
  16. i always use barbless, much better on the fish and quicker to un hook the fish, so the fish is returned to the water a lot quicker imho all venues should have the barbless hook rule as ive seen for to many fish with missing lips due to anglers not removing barbed hooks correctly
  17. you could try the river tees around yarm on the free stretch, but as for still waters with a good head of bream i'm afriad you would have to travel, Ripon race course as some nice bream, castle howard nr malton (when its on form), canal at selby has some nice size shoals, as for local waters, i guess you meant ponds, are rather rare with a good head of bream in them, locke park at redcar was about the best yrs ago until the large fish kill saw them off. basically you could ring the local tackle shops and ask them if they know anywhere, but i think you might find that they are club controlled so i think you may be stuck for local waters, if your a member of the boro angling club hutton is fishing rather well for all species and pond 2 is fishing really well
  18. have one of these, good pole, excellent at 13mtrs, good at 14.50mtrs not to bad at full length. fished with it at the wkend at my local club water at all lengths, handles carp really well, had fish to 8lb on it at full length without any probs. i must admit though 16 rated elastic was a bit ott with the carp , and they are well worth the money, the new maver 16mtr pole looks ok, but for 50bar more is it worth it just for the set of cups and the video?
  19. fairly quickly i would imagine as its floating so you dont have to hold it up to unship, it s just a case of slide it backwards and unship
  20. they can only be banned in matches if they are in that way inclined to do so, they cant ban you from using it pleasure fishing, but any fishery that wants to ban their use can do so
  21. yes they will work together ok, your ram speed will hold the cpu back, it really depends on what you use the pc for, if you use it for general use i.e. surfing and doing documents you wont notice anything really different. but if you do a fair bit of gaming i'd get the 333mhz ram:) so to get the best from the new cpu you would be better off gettting the 333mhz memory, but its really up to you
  22. next time you format and before you go to connect to the web, go to control panel, network connections, right click the icon and go to advanced and make certain that the built in firewall is switched on, this way nothing except what you want should get through, as most viruses and trojans are sat waiting for an open port as soon as you connect to the web
  23. I have an ABIT NF7 motherboard with a Barton 2500 and i have Pc3200 ram which is rated to 400mhz. Now if you only have one stick of pc3200 ram it will only run as fast as the cpu fsb, which in your case is 333mhz, now my setup will run at 400mhz when i utilise dual memory. this is a feature of the NF7 motherboard, ie it as to be in 2 slots and be exactly the same memory, to achieve this i have a 256mb stick in slot 1 and slot 3, now i have the option to increase the mem size but still have the mem running dual, all i need do is install a 512mb stick in slot 2. SO if you can let me know the make of motherboard that is installed in your pc from Mesh, (they should have sent you the motherboard manual anyway) i'll see if its worth running the 400mhz ram
  24. you could try maxblast from maxtor, as this as the option to clone your main HDD to the new one, as for the second drive you could just set that as slave, let maxblast copy your main hdd then reboot using the new hdd and just copy the other hdd to the new one, as for a free prog to do both i think you might struggle finding a good one that will do it correctly
  25. i would agree with jeepster anything smaller than a 2 gig cpu would be a waste of time, but if you can, you want the highest cpu you can get, so as to be future proof
