Could be different operating systems. Some have more stuff running in safe mode than others. What OS kendo?

kendo - I have XP loaded at home and am using AVG. I'll try to remember to start in safe mode and see how it does. I'll let you know.

 

Interesting though. If I'd had to guess, I'd have bet on XP being more likely to run it in safe mode than 98.

You should still be able to scan your drive in Safe Mode via Windows Explorer

 

Right Click on the drive you want to scan which should bring up the shell menu, then choose "Scan with AVG"

hi thanks for the suggestion I tried as you suggested but get this message AVG SHELL EXTENSION DRIVER (CORE)NOT FOUND WINERR=2 :confused:
