That's a little more better.

 

Errrr - have you considered adding a 2nd (and larger) drive? Looks like £50 or so will get you a pretty good one and larger than the one you have now.

Newt, I have decided to start a hard copy file with as much of your advice as I can find in the old posts, could save me a lot of grief in the future,I have labeled it "Newts Agony Column"

Newt, offending disk is NTFS.

 

I have another drive installed and will move some data.

 

I'm just concerened, though, as I'm pretty sure it was nowhere near full recently and am wondering if there's a big rogue file somewhere.

Elton - download a copy of Agent Ransack. Great search tool and easy to set to look for a minimum file size. Maybe run a scan for files over 250Mb and see what turns up.

Blimey. Found a folder full of backup files I'd forgotten about.

 

One subfolder alone was 4 gig
