Hooklength length on rivers

Hi all, Merry Christmas!

 

When feeder or ledgering on rivers, how long do you tend to have your hooklengths? From hook to lead?

Depends.

 

General fishing I would probably start at about 18" - but I've gone as short as 3" and as long as 6'0" for various reasons/species, (bit of pita @ 6'0").

 

I use my own type of adjustable leger stop so can change to whatever can be cast normally almost instantly.
