Yeah, but you don't get any dust on a digital shot, or scratches, or finger prints or hairs.

Agreed, but when I have half-a-dozen old film cameras lying about the place I am not buying a digital camera just for doing kayak stuff - i've got the D2X for other digi needs. I can get a lot of film scanned for the cost of a even a small digital compact - same price as just processing the negs! That'll do me.
