Reculver-Sunday

Kiyakker

Recommended Posts

Had a trip out on Sunday, Reculver, N.Kent.

Launched just before low, fished up to just before high. Cracking day, early chop disappeared, sun came out, 7 small bass, biggest about 3lb, smallest around 3/4lb. Nowt to write home about but great fun :)

All caught on rag/squid cocktail, tried spinning/plugging but not a touch.

Day only marred by a small dead porpoise floating around by the sea wall when I came in :(

Speciman, there's a North Kent Widlife Trust info office on the carpark, they had matters in hand.

Otherwise,do you report it to the Coastguard?

Hi Kayaker, looks so peaceful, who swam out to take the photo :)

That's a good point Speciman, like you say probably best to contact the coastguard first, they should be able to inform the right people. Sad indeed.

Hi Starvinmarvin,

that was the wife...she can walk on water :):)

Seriously tho' she took it from the sea wall about 1k away.

Speciman, the Fishfinder is great no problem with glare, had it switched off at the time. Only problem I have had with it was fitting the transducer. Originally had it fitted in the hull, bedded on Epoxy..wasn't DevCon but a high grade industrial stuff a mate was using for cold-moulding.

Was great for a while, no problem with signal, but it kept popping out. I surf in the 'yak every so often, and the flexing of the hull kept working it free. Was a right pig trying to get the cured epoxy off the transducer. I now have it mounted externally on a stainless bracket on the stern, mounted with velcro and gaffer tape...thus far no problem :D
