cool this thread is getting interesting i got a few spiders when i met speciman but i buggered up the cooking as i was very very tired from the journey added to mutch salt and boiled for way to long

I have a question that some of you guys can probably answer, is there anything thats possible to catch that would make me ill if I ate it? I'll eventually be going out on the yak about a mile or so.

good question was kinda hoping to learn that as well only thing i can think of atm is the flu or cold very popular during winter :D

Quite a few and they range from 'gonna make me a little sick' to 'oh dang, I think I'm dead' but none that I know of live near the UK.

As far as I am aware there are no UK fish that are inherently toxic.......but be aware that they can contain significant man-made toxins and nasty-stuff, not to mention parasites :)

 

Personally, I'd not eat stuff that was caught around any industrial or sewage outfalls and particularly esturies. Also red cod that permanently live inshore among the kelp tend to be full of worms.
