  1. My Renault 19 Chamande's roof I guess will just be as soft as yours in the UK. I do agree with you guys that the roof rack wins hands down everytime. But we must sell 35 of these on line every month, they are a great and very economical way of transporting your Kayak over shorter distances. The longer journeys, and at speed, do however require a roof rack, by far the safest option, but as far as dents go,,,, I suggest you only eat 3 Weetabix in the mornings lads
  2. If any of you guys over in Blighty have any pictures of your Yaks all rigged out, would you mind sharing them. It will give some of our newer Paddlers/Fish Yakkers a real head start in how to get their Yak ready to do battle. Thanks very much
  3. :)Graeme Have a look at these, we use them all the time they work out at about £38 delivered, and they work fantastic. http://www.fishyak.com/readyrack.html
  4. Sorry to hear about your bad news, my mate had the same problem with his 15, he had a constant 1-2 gallons of water inside the hull. It came from the rudder and the scupper hole on the seat post, he luckily got his money back after along drawn out affair, he lost all faith in them and now paddles the Extreme. Good luck sorting your issue out.
  5. It,s such a shame that a few peoples opinions have been taken so out of context. There will be no more heard from me on this subject, I ain't got that many teddy bears left.
  6. Hi Specimin, It looks very much like the same type of molding, but the Apex 1 has a few changes. The bags are as cheap as chips. The price you got there is in US$(AU$208) which would make their seat more expensive, add shipping, import duty and Vat that seat would be about AU$260. Let me make something clear here, I do not and will no post things here as a means of revenue, and my opinions are totally unbiased, I will post things that I think may help us all, e.g the seat, and I would appreciate the same feed back from yourselves, afterall this is a forum and not a shop, thanks mate
  7. Island, its not a case of insulting peoples intelligence, its a case of making "US yakkers out there aware that there are alternatives to be had and with the ultimate comfort. And if they are going to state the best comfort in the world, money back guranteed, then I dont think thats a no brainer at all It took me a long time to find a seat that helped sort the constant lower back pain I sufferd when out on the water for hours, and the response that we get world wide is of the same opinion, try it and then let me know what you think.
  8. Hi Specimin, The diver is the Master Diver for West Australia and in the top 100 divers for PADI in the world and has written many articles on Kayak diving, and has paddled for years. I will se what I can do with the clip, it will probably be about 30mb, huge download
  9. Great day had today, we have the pleasure of being next to Mainpeak, they market, the finn, Spirit, and Wilderness range, all great boats. The back of our stand we have a beach, where the general public can have a try out, We gave the X-Factor to a Diver, who I may add is 137KG(19stone) an stands at 6'3. He did a demo to show how easy it was for a big bloke to roll in the water, take his 57KG diving gear off his back, place it all back in the boat and then climb on the boat and paddle away, this he did with ease, to a chorous of applause from the ever growing crowd of on lookers. So, the Wilderness man said "puh" you can do that on any Yak, and pushed the Tarpon 160 forward, our best boat he said, so out went the diver (unbiased I will add) and tried to do the same, unfortunetly try as he may he could not get back on the boat, and at one stage tipped it over unfortunetly for him the crowds were bigger, fortunetly for us we have it all on film
  10. Hi Yakity I have enclosed a few links that will show you the bits that South African is talking about. http://www.fishyak.com/kayakseat.html The back rest is infact a High back foam molded seat, that is adjustable in eight differant ways, so giving the Fish Yakker the best possible sitting posture, like bringing your favourite armchair to your yak http://www.fishyak.com/wheels.html This heavy duty wheel cart, is very light weight, the wheels come off allowing it to fit into most forward hatches, or into the rear molded storage area with ease. http://www.fishyak.com/paddles.html The Tsunami has a nice size blade,is lightweight and very sturdy. Molded power thurst design, 2 piece paddle. As for the price without all the above, South African will have to help you there, but I am sure he will do you all a nice deal.
  11. Good luck Stuart, not that you will need much. One thing I am certain of , is you are never going to be short of buddies to go out Yakking with. The UK seems abundant with people joining this ever growing and popular sport, its so new here in Oz, but the interest is massive. On Nov 20th I have hired a 60 foot trawler for me and a team of 15 on Kayaks to go on the hunt for Sampson Fish, this will be awesome, the first ever Mothership Kayak fishing competition here in West Australia, and I believe the first in Australia, wish us luck.. http://www.aaawa.iinet.net.au/AdamEastmanSampson.html
  12. Did any of you manage to see the X-Factor, and what are your thougts
  13. Has any one had time or the inclination to get up/down and see the X-Factor in Haywards Heath, opinions????

  15. Hi Terry, I am in Perth and I have to say its my thierd time here, but that a long story, I should not of left the last time which was 12 years ago. Been back 2 yrs now, and love it. I agree with you about the history side of things, Oz is such a young country and the history has been bought by all us immigrants, "Rule Bloody Britannia" The fishing is great though mate, I have a mate in Melbourne, who regulary catches 20 good size (45CM) Snapper in only 2-3 hours 200m off the beach, I am going to post some pictures in the next few days. Great to be an ENGLISHMAN DOWN UNDER at the moment mate, "in those imortal words of LCPl Jones "they don't like it up em"
