Lucky To Be Alive!

Hi Steve,

I was once involved in an almost identical situation as a passenger – not something I’d want to relive and its still something that adds an extra note of caution to my driving even now, a great many years after the event.

My thoughts are with Peggy, yourself and of course the driver of the other car, I hope she makes a full recovery.

Testament to the strength of the Volvo – I hope it’s not too long before you are sorted with a new addition.

Steve,

I once got side-swiped and my Volvo written off.

No warning, just a screech of brakes and a crash.

Luckily no injuries, but it was weird for a while afterwards.

Because it had happened so unexpectedly out of the blue.

Even riding my bike, it was like I was expecting something to smash into me, coming from nowhere. Hard to describe really.

It took several weeks for things to settle back to 'normal'.

I guess that's what it must be liked for someone who's been mugged etc, now scared to go out of their house.

The world is quite different, and seemingly a more dangerous place.

But as I said the feelings eventually passed :)
