Searching A.n.

Using the "search" option I find it hard to refine the search.

e.g. entering :

lure +circle

expecting it to return any posts relating to the use of lures with circle hooks in fact returns no hits at all. It seems to take "+circle", or the whole phrase, as the target.

Any hints?

don't use a "+" sign, as you thought it then searches for the +

I guess the best bet is to simply search for the keywords you are wanting. It looks as though it only looks for the exact words you enter.

A search for "lure +circle" now of course gives one match. However a search for "+circle lure" returns nothing, and nor does "lure circle"

The quote marks are just used here, I did not use them in the search itself, but if you use them the search returns the same result.

If you mean the members thing next to search on the menu just below Anglers' Net Forums, it provides access to member details, I am guess it only works for admin and mods, as I'm neither I don't see what's in there either!

Just type in circle hooks. You get lots of hits, including at least one with lures in the title. You'll need to trawl through each topic though.

It seems as though the search isn't as powerful as Google etc as if you put in circle hooks lures you get nothing!
