Yes, I noticed that a few weeks ago after a post in another forum. That rule has been snuck in very quietly. I'm pretty annoyed by it, I don't know what it'll achieve apart from making the fishing more difficult and more annoying. I assume the've had trouble with idiots using it for pike. That's the trouble when something starts to get popular, you then have to legislate for the lowest common denominator.

It's funny how it changed throughout the season to a lovely quiet place with acres to yourself to absolute bedlam and boats colliding etc etc

It always gets loads worse once the weekends open up in Oct. So the search is on for a suitable wire, my least faviourite thing in all of fishing! Particularly so when it's totally uneccessary.

 

There's no length specified from memory, maybe a flouro leader with a wire tippet is OK.
