Will they let you use it for fishing I know they dont allow fishing from the Yaks on Cayo Guillermo Cuba so it may be the same for other destinations around the world.

Then again I am sure slipping them a tip will soon change their mind.

where did you stay in guillermo? I never even saw the yaks, i spent all my time on the bridge coming in, or at the end of the melia pier.

if they wont allow the yaks, maybe they'll have something more traditional, anyone fished from a pedalo????

I was at the Cojimar plenty yaks there including two seaters, going to give them a go in May and see if i can bribe my way to get some fiishing.

They had pedallos as well but the same rules regarding fishing applied.

I thing th hotel operators worry about fish slime blood guts etc getting all over the boats and putting the non fishing tourists off.

next time I think I'll pay for the services of a guide and head out into the mangroves for the fishing there, since coming back I've heard some great reports, but all said that it was more than worthwhile hiring a guide.

Next time you go out to Cayo Guillermo pay a visit to the Marybar near to the Cojimar as all of the skippers drink in there at some stage; you should be able to arrange for one to take you out in a small motor boat around the mangroves for CCUP 140 for a half a day with up to three people fishing (two in comfort).

The Nature Reserve El Baga also does guided trips for Tarpon and Bonefish (conditions permitting), at CCuP90 per person per day.
