The longer i stay on or start downloading anything, the little flag in the top right hand corner stops moving then after that if try to start looking about my computer slows down it almost stops.

ive run avg theres nothing there, same as spyware,and adware nothing.

Im using Avg and zone alarm.

xp home

service pack 2

Amd athlon 64 bit prossor

3200+

2.20GHZ

512MB of ram

two 80gig sata drive

and my internet connection speed is 2.2

It probably won't directly help your browsing problems but for goodness sake, feed that hungry system another 512Mb of memory.

 

How often do you dump your temporary internet files and history? Note that you should close all browser windows after doing that and then reopen them.

 

Good idea while the browser sessions are closed to click on start, on run, key in ipconfig /flushdns and click OK. note the space after ipconfig

 

Have you defragged your system drive recently?

dunc85 ive done this and nothing else is running?

 

Newt isnt 512Mb of memory enough `ll buy another

 

temporary internet files and history i do this quiet offten

 

defragged your system it say it doesnt need doing

 

ipconfig /flushdns ive typed this in and a black box flashes up and in an instant its gone??? <_<

The bare minimum I`d use for XP is 1GB memory (I have 2.5GB installed presently)

 

OK

 

try this for the ipconfig /flushdns

 

Start > Run > Type in cmd > Hit OK > in the screen type in the ipconfig /flushdns command.

 

You should see something similar to:
