Nice fish, congrats! You win the challenge, I went out on the Thames yesterday with a foolproof plan - catch a few livies on maggot and paternoster them in some gorgeous looking swims I've found. The only problem was that I didn't get a single bite on maggot, so went home defeated again! This weekend sums my winter up - it's been a grueller

cheers,only bit of fun tho,

 

been hard since xmas,started being one take days most of the time.

 

boozel get on it mate,switch ya lead over to a large 2oz blockend feeder,headoff the herring chop it up use a stick to push it all down in to teh feeder,pukka rig!

Now the evenings are getting a bit lighter I'm going to sneak in an hour after work a couple of nights in the week - so it's back to these lovely neglected swims with some deadbaits and try to catch something before 14 March. I can't bear 3 months of looking back in frustration!

been getting back on the lures myself,been fishing them around my deads too,still cant catch on teh damn things had one fish come off on a shad last night,and one followed a jerkbait n turned away! araaargh!

Come hell snow rain i will go out this weekend to a river for a pike, found out where lots of roach are shoaling up thanks to a trotting session so now will go back and try for a pike or two. I will post back to let you know how i get on.
