hi all i would like to have a fishing break to the river wye to go for some barble chub etc. thinking of staying around symonds yat. any pointers would be helpful thanks

Bishopswood, £6 a day, DT from the stores, mile or so of good fishing, just below Kerne Bridge, not Tuesday's on the upper stretch. Apart from that WUF pre book, but at least £20.

Peter, you don't need to be a WUF member, just pre book a stretch on line. The stretch I mentioned and fish is a clay bottom stretch mostly, but you need to approach it I would suggest with the conventional feeder approach and fish with a pit of patience, two biggish feeding patterns normally come in a day, am and pm. The downstream section offers great stick float fishing, as does the peg by the 'path' into the fishery.
