Just been looking through ebay and the Abu BG10000 reels seem remarkably cheap.

 

Why would this be the case?

They seem to be legit shops, some of them, so I hope not. I had a look at Veals and it was quite heavily discounted on there, too.

 

I wonder if it hasn't sold well in the UK, or something?

 

I'm looking for a pair of 6500's, but they don't seem quite so discounted

Elton, dont know what price the 1000's ars going for? . . . but I just bought a '6500 Chrome Rocket' from Spotty Dog, £70 + post. inc a little hagling

They are not bad reels but there are better ones for less money, so nobody's buying them at the RRP. I used a 9000C for years on game fish like wahoo and dorado and their only weak point was the clutch washers, they burnt out too quickly. I was replacing them fortnightly. Good fishing though.
