I need some help from you clever guys.

I have just acquired another website address and i want to link this new address to my existing website, so that if anyone clicks on the new address they are automatically transfered to my original website to avoid having two sites .

Is this possible, if so how do i do it?

Many thanks in advance :g:

if you stil have the old one in use, i would have thought you could just put the redirect URL for the new addy to the first one, so people would type in the old addy and automaticlay get redirected to the new one, then you could put a sign on ya website saying that there is a change of address and to change their bookmarks maybe....

Hope thats understandable in some way shape or form :P

Forwarding works okay, but ask the current host if they allow aliasing

Also if your host uses cPanel, then you can also park the domain

Domain pointers allow you to "point" or "park" additional domain names to your existing hosting account. This will allow users to also reach your website when entering the "parked" or "pointed" domain into their browsers.

301 forwarding - good

302 forwarding (used by many hosts) - bad if you want to rank well with the major search engines.

After you get your changes made, download a free copy of the Webbug utility and have it examine your URLs.
