Chesters.....get on to your local MP and put your case forward. I'm told if you do so then rarely will they face up to the fight and will yield to your wishes.

Oh dear. It seems that there is already law in place that makes it manadory to deport non-EU nationals who have been imprisoned for more than a year and EU nationals who have been imprisoned for more than two years.

Not only was this not being done but the fact that it wasn't was bought to Mr Clarkes attention by the NAO amonst others. As he's failed to act, he, his suborninate immigration and prisons ministers and several senior civil servants are in a very dodgy position - although no doubt the civil servants will be found a nice backwater to keep working in if they're high enough up.
