excited to have lost a pike

i dont know if the pike was waiting in the shallows somewhere when it went for it but it definetly took a go for the lure i felt it tug at it grab the treble but i jerked it at the very second it went for it was like it grab the end of the treble and not the entire treble, shortly after that i casted into weeds a few feet to my left and got a smaller jack

i dont think there is any 'open season' for pike ive fished them prety much all year round from end of summer last year through winter and still catching them this spring but thats the first ive seen one chase the lure, amazing stuff, like andy said i need to get me those polerised sun glasses. i want to see somthing like that more regular but without loosing it

 

i think i once heard a topic on here a guy wading and returned a trout when a pike snatched it out of his hands

 

I mean river Pike.. Gonna start on them locally until i get a car sorted out for myself then start stretching out and go to some still waters.

Andy, open and closed seasons work differently down south.

The close season generally only applies to migratory salmonids. There is no 'other species' fishing during the close season and no amount of clever chat about methods, will sway the bailiffs, riparian owners, Police or anyone with any say in accessing fishing.
