I am doing a day session this weekend at a water I have never fished before but have heard that the water is very clear and is a 7 acre lake. What is the best way I can present my bait without the carp spooking?

Thanks

Flourocarbon hook lenghts unless there is a lot of weed then i'd probably use a green/brown braid type hooklength.

An angler is a man who spends rainy days sitting around on muddy banks doing nothing because his wife won't let him do it at home.

Likekestrel said, either use fluorocarbon or green/brown line. Alternatively, you can buy clear line, and then use permanent green/brown or green/black markers to colour up the line. What this does is it breaks up the outline of the line, making it harder for the fish to see it. Again, as mentioned before, the colouring is dependent on the composition of the lake bed.

Good luck to you mate.
