Imagine if they done it here. see below for a sample of modern youth communication

I is well proppaley offended by all da disrepect you's is putting towards us. We young people needs ta be givin a chance innit cus otherwise we won't be able to like do nuffin and stuff yeah?

I mean, like, yeah, but all we wanna do for a bit is hang out wiv our mates and hav a laff and stuff, and we ain't hurtin' nobody if we hav a cupla beers on da street are we? Then the 5-0 turn up and cause bovva, and it, like, causes aggro and stuff. Cos I know my rights and stuff. not tawkin proppaley is not an ofence .

Didn't the Froggies try something similar a while back?

Banning the usage of "franglais," words such as *le weekend.*

Correct usage of the English language is definitely deteriorating, and only hastened by text speak and emails.

I can't see fines being the answer to something like this though, education is the only way.

Not much hope for English then!

Here's a prime and fresh example just plucked from a barbel forum

Title bait and meathords

wat is ur altime best catcher and methords for the barbus.

I'd say that there's not much hope for Malaysian (or French, for that matter).

As soon as any linguistic 'correctness' becomes set in stone, that language starts to become dated. English has survived so well BECAUSE it changes and adapts under different influences.
