Things that put you off fly fishing

I'm a fly fishing rookie and the following things occasionally make it a hard game to love. I keep coming back for more, of course but I just wondered if there was anything that nearly made you jack it all in when you were first learning the ropes:

1. Other people tinkering incessantly with your cast

2. Hooking vegetation, particularly that just two inches beyond your reach

3. The wind getting up very time you approach the bank (literally, that is, not metaphorically)

4. Tiny hooks, invisible fluorocarbon and weakening eyesight

The thought of going home empty handed (again) always put me off so never promise a fish to anyone before you go!

Bank fishing - Hooking and playing a fish when the nearest boat ups and moves to within casting range.

Have your boat partner raise and catch an 8lb bass on a ***** great big yo zure slider from the exact spot you just put a fly over :( ,disheartening to say the least.

Also other fisherman with no idea of person space or bankside etiquette.

I agree with you plus it did help when a friend pointed out the line supplied in the kit deal was under weight for the rod; next size line and I was casting much better, and Catching fish. Rule is never give up its fun in the end.
