I do not think Whitley Bay suits Dale now after his "Gods Country" experience

yes once experienced never forgotin you'll need to get a bigger van for next year and make it a fortnight

Sorry my van is fully booked now with the same "crew".

Will post up the date asap. The good thing is Martin on the site has 5 vans for hire £250 a week,if there are 4/6 of you it is not a bad deal.

Also they now take on small tents again,£5/head/night

the fishing in earnest kicked off on Tuesday,

Chris, Dale ,Terry and me set off to my fav pollack mark at the tip of the mull of galloway

 

Weather was spot on if not a bit too sunny as we forgot any sun creams

 

I set them up with sliding float rigs pennel rigged in case of any bigger fish and used large sandeels whole once head cut off.

 

Dales second cast produced his first ever pollack and a fine specimen it was too

 

tipping the scale at 6 1/2 lb

 

the fun had started...................

Chris was next up with a smaller fish of around two pound but good sport all the same....

 

Terry's float dissapeared and the resultant fish was his first ever catch

a fine first fish and happy campers all round except me with not even a nibble

more 2 lb sized pollack kept getting caught by the lads feltit wasn't going to be my day so time for plan b

yippee i was of the mark with a nice 2lb pollack

 

Terry's rod took a bend no float in site his admirable fight resulted in a fish of approx 7 lb .........disaster on hand lining it up it i slipped and the fish became unhooked .... sorry Terry but it got the prize of biggest caught shore fishas i had touched the fish and leader/snood

 

Chris's turn for a larger pollack again of 6 1/2lb

below terry's foot is the remains of one of snatchers rods that was attached to posssbly the grand daddy of these 6 1/2 lb'rs that beat up on Dale and rod went craaaaaaaaaaack.........

And there was me just catching 200 mackeral,LSDS to 3LBish,pollack to 4LB,tub gurnard and bass

and bitten off by a tope in Freddies boat

What a crap week;)

 

Forgot the copius amounts of beer

 

The highlight/lowlight ! one "large"bass had 3 attempts to get my popper,third attempt hooked up and she smoked line. Think I played her too hard and the hooks pulled out

 

The scary thing was watching the "bow wave" behind the popper 3 times. I was shaking like a leaf.

Manxman it was were I seen you hook your first one.

She was a beast mind
