hi is there anywhere in the north east where i can catch ruffe this species has always eluded me!

I don't know how far north you are andy, but the Ure and Yorkshire Ouse used to have plenty.

Not so many now, but still there.

 

I think I read somewhere, that they had a holiday in Scotland, liked it so much that they decided to stay.

There's been the odd one caught on the Ouse but not enough to target, I used to fish for them at Aldwalk bridge years ago near Tollerton you could bag up on them big time!!!!!!!!!!!
