May water

Well the May water has arrived in the N.sea. Pea soup from 2 days ago so the fishing is naff and will be for the next 3 to 4 weeks depending on the weather. Still going to give it a go though :)

Just wondered how it affects you in your neck of the woods and what you do to still catch

Well, when we get it, we dont fish unless we are on a boat capable of going out further than the mucky water, It happened this time last year, 17 anglers on a boat, not a fish even touched. So, now what we do is either go to the pub, or, go further out.

In sleep every dog dreams of food, and I, a fisherman, dream of fish..

Ruins it here in Weymouth as well, but the shallower water can still fish. The Shambles can still be OK. Suprised you got it before us though, perhaps it will miss us this year. ( Fat chance ) Best bet is anchor in deep water with BIG baits, if they can,t see it they can smell it.

Out from the Hook of Holland heading for Harwich.

We went North yesterday and escaped it the only problem we had was that one of the props dropped off  so we had to turn round and come home, a 5 hour steam on one engine :(
